Mission Opportunities
Leaders, here are some AWESOME missions opportunities in Knoxville to get your students involved. Please contact them directly to discuss ways for your Life Group to make a difference!
Faith Promise Based Ministries
Pantry of Promise- Our congregation’s food pantry that collects, sorts, and distributes food and household goods to those in need. This ministry does on-site distributions two times per month and major holiday distributions at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. For more information, contact De’Neece H. at pantryofpromise@gmail.com.
Kids Hope USA- One child, one hour is the heart of KIDS HOPE USA. One caring adult mentoring an at-risk child one hour every week. Because when kids feel loved and valued, they are better able to learn, grow, and succeed. Faith Promise has adopted Beaumont Elementary School in the Western Heights area of Knoxville. The opportunity is vast. The need is great. The idea is simple. One Child, One Hour, One Church, One School. You could be the one. For more information, contact Susan Troop at susant@faithpromise.org.
Western Heights Community Development- This ministry involves active partnerships with other churches, local outreach ministries, and Western Heights community residents. We have committed to walking alongside this community to see them adopt a passion for revitalizing their own environment from the inside out. Come be a part of our monthly partnership meetings and regular outreaches in this area. Different projects may include a Boys & Girls Club, youth sports, or a clean- up day. For more information, email missions@faithpromise.org.
Clothing Donation Ministry- Help provide clothes to people in Knoxville who are in need. Our year-round donation container is located in the gravel area in the back parking lot of the Faith Promise Pellissippi Campus. It is directly to the left of the main trailer door. Clothing is collected every weekend, sorted and then distributed to a mixture of FP members and local ministries. In-season clothes are most helpful – especially jeans, tennis shoes, coats, socks, and underwear. If you would like to donate or help serve in this ministry, please email fpclothes@gmail.com.
Servants With A Task (SWAT) – Providing men an opportunity use their time, talents, and compassion to bring those in need into an encounter with the Kingdom of Christ by fixing their homes. This ministry exists to serve God by assisting people who are disabled, widowed, single parents, deployed military spouses, and the elderly with home repair services. We offer help with minor electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical problems, and landscaping, as well as moving assistance. Join our experienced and inexperienced team of servants or let us know of opportunities! Go to fpmen.org/swat.asp for information or email fpcswat@gmail.com.
